# How to deposit assets into Tapioca and earn yield

> Fund your Tapioca smart account and deposit assets to start earning yield — no gas fees required. Supports USDC, ETH, cbETH, and more on Base.

Depositing into Tapioca is a two-step process: first, get your assets onto the Base network and into your Tapioca smart account; then, deposit them into a yield strategy. All transactions are gasless thanks to ZeroDev's paymaster — you never need to hold ETH for gas fees. There is no minimum deposit amount, so you can start with whatever you have available.

  All assets must be on the **Base network** before you can deposit them into Tapioca. Assets on Ethereum mainnet or other chains will not appear in your Tapioca balance.

## Step 1 — Fund your smart account

Before you deposit into a yield strategy, your Tapioca smart account needs a balance on Base. Choose one of the methods below depending on where your funds currently are.

### From Coinbase exchange (recommended)

    Open [coinbase.com](https://coinbase.com) or the Coinbase mobile app and navigate to your portfolio.

  <Step title="Initiate a withdrawal">
    Select the asset you want to send (e.g., USDC or ETH) and click **Send / Withdraw**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the Base network">
    When prompted to choose a network, select **Base**. Withdrawals from Coinbase to Base are **free and near-instant**.

  <Step title="Enter your Tapioca smart account address">
    Paste your Tapioca smart account address (shown in the top-right of the app) as the destination and confirm the withdrawal.

<Tip>
  Coinbase users can withdraw directly to Base at no cost — no bridging required. This is the fastest way to fund your Tapioca account.

### From another network (bridging)

If your funds are on Ethereum mainnet or another chain, you need to bridge them to Base first.

    Use the official Base bridge at [bridge.base.org](https://bridge.base.org) or a third-party bridge like [Stargate](https://stargate.finance) for cross-chain transfers.

  <Step title="Select your source chain and asset">
    Choose the chain where your funds currently reside and select the asset you want to bridge.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set Base as the destination">
    Select **Base** as the destination network and paste your Tapioca smart account address as the recipient.

  <Step title="Confirm the bridge transaction">
    Approve the transaction in your wallet. Bridging times vary — the official Base bridge typically takes a few minutes from Ethereum mainnet.

## Step 2 — Deposit into a yield strategy

Once your smart account has a balance on Base, you are ready to deposit.

    From the Tapioca dashboard, click **Deposit** in the main navigation.

  <Step title="Select an asset">
    Choose the asset you want to deposit. Tapioca supports assets including **USDC**, **ETH**, and **cbETH** on Base.

  <Step title="Enter an amount">
    Type the amount you want to deposit. There is no minimum deposit required. Use the **Max** button to deposit your full available balance.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and confirm">
    Check the displayed strategy details and estimated yield rate, then click **Confirm Deposit**. The transaction is gasless — no ETH is deducted for fees.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm your deposit is active">
    Your deposited balance and accruing yield appear on the **Dashboard** within a few seconds of the transaction confirming on-chain.
